Celebrating Success at the First Face-to-Face ISESA Event: A Day of Insight, Innovation, and Inspiration
We are thrilled to share the highlights from our first in-person ISESA event, the ISESA Undergraduate Poster Presentation and Networking Event, which took place on 23rd May, at the University of Limerick (UL).
The event brought together an enthusiastic community of over 50 final-year undergraduate students from 11 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), along with esteemed speakers, panellists, and industry leaders.
Networking
The event started with some networking for all students attending on the day. As nerve wracking as it may have been for many to start off talking to other students from other HEI’s, the students fully engaged and really enjoyed getting to talk amongst themselves. This kicked off the day with the essence of what the day was all about.
Showcasing Student Excellence
One of the event's highlights was the poster presentation session, where students showcased their research and projects. The quality of the posters was exceptional, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our future professionals. The students did a fantastic job presenting their work, impressing both the attendees and the judges with their knowledge and enthusiasm.

Acknowledging Contributions
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and a closing address, celebrating the outstanding contributions of our students. We would like to extend a special thank you to our speakers Joe, Neasa, and Bróna, for their inspiring presentations on their career pathway and to Bruce for his excellent moderation of the panel discussions on careers and research in sport and exercise science. We also appreciate the efforts of our committee members Marion, Kate, and Jack, who played crucial roles in ensuring the event's success. All HEI representatives and ISESA champions from all the different HEI’s that were tasked with different jobs upon arrival ensured the smooth running of the event, making the day more memorable for all.
