ISESA Accreditation FAQs

  • ISESA will accredit individuals to work within the area of professional practice in which ISESA determines they are safe and fit to practice and having impact in their role. This area of professional practice is referred to as an individual’s domain of expertise.

An individual’s domain of expertise has two core elements:

    1. Disciplinary specialism: biomechanics, physiology, psychology, nutrition, performance analysis, skill acquisition, or strength and conditioning

    2. Category of professional practice: scientific support, research or pedagogy. If you fall outside of these specialisms then consider if ISESA accreditation is the right path for you. The domain of expertise must be specified in all applications for ISESA Accreditation. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of demonstrating the required standard of competency and experience to practice safely, independently and effectively within that domain of expertise. Individuals accredited by ISESA must at all times work within their domain of expertise. ISESA Accreditation is awarded to those practitioners who are deemed by the Association to have the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to be safe and fit to practice. This will be judged against the evidence provided towards meeting the competencies within the ISESA Accreditation Competency Profile.
