ISESA is seeking a practitioner in sport and/or exercise science to join its Board of Directors. This voluntary, non-executive role offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the Association, representing the practitioner voice and supporting ISESA’s mission to advance the sport and exercise sciences community in Ireland.
Experience in event planning or similar will be considered an advantage, as ISESA continues to grow its events and networking activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to ISESA’s governance and strategic planning.
- Provide practitioner insight to ensure initiatives reflect and support the needs of those working in the field.
- Support the development of member-focused opportunities such as workshops, networking, and events.
- Build connections across sport, health, academia, and industry to enhance ISESA’s impact.
Person Specification:
Essential: Current or recent practitioner experience in sport and/or exercise science; strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable: Experience in event planning/delivery (or similar project management); understanding of nonprofit governance or prior board membership; knowledge of the Irish sport, health, or education sectors; professional networks across relevant sectors.
Time Commitment:
Approx. 6 – 8 board meetings per year, plus involvement in committees and key events.
