Ciara Sinnott O’Connor is an experienced performance physiologist with over 15 years’ expertise supporting Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the world stage. As Head of Performance Physiology at the Sport Ireland Institute, she leads the performance physiology team delivering cutting-edge physiological support, research, and strategy to athletes across sports. She also serves as Head of Performance Support with Cycling Ireland and Paralympic Swimming, and has been part of the science and medical teams for multiple Olympic and Paralympic Games including Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024. Holding a PhD in training load monitoring from the University of Limerick, Ciara has published widely in applied sport science and chairs key initiatives on female athlete health and research strategy.
