2026 ISESA AGM: Highlights from Our Second AGM

Key highlights
  • ISESA continues to grow, over 200 individual members and 15 organisational members, including two national governing bodies of sport.
  • The 2025 year end audit produced an unqualified audit opinion. We reported a surplus of €4,298. The Balance sheet remains strong with assets exceeding liabilities.
  • A new five-pillar strategy has been developed to guide ISESA’s continued growth and development.
  • The ISESA logo has been trademarked, strengthening the Association’s identity and protecting its brand.
  • ISESA accreditation pathways continue to expand, with the Accredited Sports Performance Analyst (ASPA) accreditation planned for launch later in 2026.
  • The 2026 ISESA Conference in TUS Athlone was a major success, welcoming 328 attendees and bringing together practitioners, researchers, academics and students from across the sport and exercise sciences community.
  • New directors were ratified by the membership, further strengthening the ISESA Board and its breadth of expertise.
  • The 2027 ISESA Conference will take place at University College Dublin on 20–21 May 2027.
  • ISESA will continue its work on long-term conditions exercise instructor workforce development, supporting the growth of exercise provision for people living with long-term conditions.
  • A new Board leadership team will take office in November, with Dr SarahJane Cullen becoming Chair and Professor Kate Pumpa becoming Vice Chair.
  • The AGM also approved an amendment to ISESA’s Constitution relating to director reappointment terms.
