A fully-funded four-year PhD studentship at Technological University Dublin, on the development of video data architecture and computer vision pipelines for elite sport.
The successful candidate will design and build the platform that handles ingestion, storage, retrieval and CV-layer analysis of sports video, and will research how human factors and ergonomics shape adoption of these systems by coaches and analysts in high-pressure environments.
The studentship is offered as part of a new multi-institutional national research centre for data science and AI, funded by Research Ireland. Stipend €25,000 per year tax-free; EU fees covered; non-EU students receive a fee waiver from TU Dublin.
Start date: Autumn 2026.
Contract period: Full-time, four-year funded PhD studentship.
